The Xylishield line consists of gum, mints, mouth rinse and toothpaste, each containing high levels of Xylitol, an all-natural sweetener that helps to “shield” teeth from cavity causing bacteria.

INDICATION

Studies demonstrate that consuming 6-10 grams of xylitol per day may reduce the risk of tooth decay. By helping patients establish a daily Xylishield routine, they’ll be equipped with an easy, effective and enjoyable way to improve their oral health and reduce the risk of tooth decay.

Evaluation Team Feedback

The CPS Evaluation Team of 20 evaluated the Xylishield Dental Care Kit. On an average the kit was used on 23 patients and team. When asked if the office is currently promoting products containing Xylitol to their patients, about 60% said yes and with various brands. All felt the Xylishield would be a beneficial product to have available to their patients. Several hygienist quoted as saying” It’s obviously high in xylitol and the kit makes it easy to incorporate the recommended 8-12 grams each day” and that the basic premise of using xylitol to reduce decay is why they recommended it to patients. Several assistants commented that they could see cavity protection for dry mouth patients. Several would like to have a variety of flavors for patients along with marketing brochures. The evaluators commented on what they liked best almost all said the cinnamon mints and the gum were the best part of the package. When asked what they liked least several replied that the gum lost flavor after awhile and the mints dissolve right away in your mouth. Scientific literature would be a great addition to the kit along with some of the Opalpix. Some team members would like to have a smaller size compact kit for 2 options of sizes. When asked would they recommend this product to their patients every evaluator said yes!
