Ray M. Becker, D.D.S., F.A.G.D.

Ray M. Becker, D.D.S., F.A.G.D. Dr. Becker is a life long resident of Maryland. He grew up in Carroll County and graduated from Westminster High School in 1978. He then attended the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) where he graduated Cum Laude in Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental studies in 1982. He then studied Dentistry at the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery (University of Maryland Dental School) in 1986.

Dr. Becker graduated from Dental School with various honors and awards including receiving the Omicron Kappa Upsilon gold key (the Phi Beta Kappa of Dental Colleges), The International College of Dentistry Award for outstanding achievement, The Maryland Academy of General Dentistry Award for ‘outstanding clinical skills and patient management’, as well as being inducted into the Gorgas Odontological Society (for academic achievement) and Gamma Pi Delta (Prosthodontic Honor Society).

He then continued training with his post-doctoral residency at Prince George’s Hospital and Medical Center where he met his wife of 24 years Colleen. He has resided in Howard County for the past 24 years and they have 3 children who attended Trinity School, Resurrection School, Mount Saint Joseph High School, and Mount deSales High School. They enjoy family camping, biking, and attending their children’s many sporting events.

Dr. Becker strongly believes in the value of continuing education. He obtains many hundreds of hours in accredited CE courses each year throughout the world. Evidence of that dedication towards continuing education is his receipt of the Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) in 1995. Fewer than 5% of active members in the Academy of General Dentistry (whose membership mandates active, ongoing pursuit of CE) achieve that status. This rigorous standard far exceeds the basic requirements for maintaining licensure.

Dr. Becker is a highly regarded and sought after international lecturer on the topics of CEREC® (one visit CAD/CIM crowns) and has been on the developmental team of Sirona (the manufacturer of CEREC®) developing the next generation of CAD/CIM technology since 2003. Dr. Becker was one of the original users of CEREC® in the entire United States (and first in State of Maryland) having used the system since 1991.He has also keynoted and educated doctors internationally on advanced esthetic techniques, CEREC®, and occlusion at prestigious venues such as thePacific Dental Conference (Vancouver Canada), IDS (Cologne Germany), Oregon Dental ConferenceAusCD (twice at Brisbane and Sydney Australia), Finnish CEREC users group (three occasions in Pori, Finland), World Congress of Minimally Invasive Dentistry (WCMID) to name but a few of the many venues he has been honored to teach dentists internationally over the past 20 years. He teaches hundreds of hours of ADA/CERP accredited continuing education to doctors internationally each year.

Recently, Dr. Becker has taken on the role as the sole international interpretation and certifying instructor for the Total BioPAK® system. This advanced technology is used and taught worldwide by practically every notable group or individual that teaches or espouses advanced occlusion or biometrics in dentistry. In this role Dr. Becker teaches doctors who advance their skills and purchase the Total BioPAK® system, manufactured by BioResearch, Inc. of Milwaukee, how to understand and interpret the biometric data the equipment provides. He is one of the few dentists worldwide who holds a mastership status in Total BioPAK®, and one of the very few who has ever received the Diplomate Award and status for his efforts in educating medical doctors and dentists internationally in the use of Electrovibratography, Electromyography, and Electrognathography.

Channel 9 News has also featured Dr. Becker on 3 separate occasions for his innovation using computers in advanced esthetic dental care as well as regarding his opinion and perspective on tooth whitening products. For a more detailed view of Dr. Becker’s curriculum vitae please click the link.

Most importantly, Dr. Becker is passionate about delivering the highest possible standard of care with an emphasis on caring towards his patients. He spares no expense in time, technology, or efforts to deliver that standard of care to his patients. All of the education in the world cannot surpass the importance of applying it in a warm, inviting, friendly environment that focuses on the patients individual needs.
