Evaluation Team Feedback

CPS review team said adding a level to the Denar Slidematic System added accuracy to the mounting process.
Several reviewer that use other systems with levels, felt that adding another level wasn’t necessary. The rest of the reviews that have never used the level, felt it was a great addition. All that use the Denar Slidematic Facebow system said they would continue to use the levels. None of the evaluators had to use the second level due to the loss tackiness after several uses. One evaluator used the level at-least 2 ties a day for 2 weeks, and it stayed in place. One assistant said she felt by using the level, she didn’t have to call the dentist in to check after her and it added confidence to taking the facebow. One dentist evaluator said now that Denar has added the level to the system, he feels he could let go and allow his assistant to take over this procedure.

Using the Denar Slidematic Facebow Level

Mark the anterior reference point on the patient's right side using the Reference Plane Locator and Marker.

With the bitefork arm to the patient's right, place the fork into the mouth, aligning the patient's midline with the the index notch, so that it is parallel with the patient's coronal and horizontal planes. Place a rigid or stiff cotton roll under the bitefork to stabilize the bite.

After you have loosen the finger screws on clamps #1 and #2, then loosen the center wheel so that the earbow will open and adjust to the patient's face. Assemble the facebow on the patient by sliding the bitefork arm through clamp marked #2 as the measuring bow's earpieces fit tightly into the patients ear. Tighten the center wheel on the bow and loosen the finger screw marked #2.

Notice the level on the facebow to allow another point of reference.

Raise or lower the bow so that the pointer aligns precisely with the anterior reference point.

If you are aligned with the reference point, Tighten clamps #1 and #2.

Be careful not to alter the bow while tightening the clamps.

Now the patient's intercondylar distance is the measurement indicated on the scale. Record this measurement in the patient's record.

Stepping back to see that the level and earbow are parallel to the floor.
